Be amazed by the treasures of Austria's most modern library, find out what the yellow barrier tape at crime scenes has to do with the University of Graz, or really get going in the hands-on labs with lab coats and safety goggles. You will have these and many other opportunities to get to know your campus in a new way at the beginning of the Alumni Day, before it starts with the official opening in the Alumni Lecture Hall.

The collection, established as early as 1865 and housed in the main building in 1894, contains 150 plaster copies of famous Greek statues and reliefs in original size, as well as an original collection of Greek vases and a rich teaching collection, which need not fear comparisons with larger European universities.

Hans Gross is the "father of criminology", and Graz is the original home of CSI! In addition to the famous crime scene case, many corpora delicti from the time around 1900 await you. Crime is examined from a criminological point of view and exciting criminal cases are presented.

Since 2015, Graz archeology has been researching the Roman sanctuary on the Schöckl with a cult building on the east summit equipped with wall paintings and a women’s sanctuary around a karst shaft, which has yielded spectacular finds from the 3rd and 4th centuries AD, to which the core area of the special exhibition is dedicated.

The presentation of the project "Book Sponsorship" is probably reason enough for the Special Collections of the University of Graz to open its doors wide for you. Papyri, manuscripts, incunabula and more than 200,000 printed books up to the year of publication 1901 are stored in special stacks. We are pleased to present you some highlights of the Styrian cultural book heritage - of course also works that are still waiting for a godmother or godfather!

The Botanical Garden of the University of Graz, which has been in existence since 1888, offers an insight into the history of science in Graz and the wonders of the plant cover our earth with its open-air grounds, the show greenhouses and the historic glasshouse, which was renovated in 2021.

Billions of people use the services of various social media groups and are influenced - mostly unconsciously - by the mechanisms prevailing there (e.g. echo chambers and filter bubbles). However, this influence is not limited to the digital sphere, but also leads to, sometimes massive, effects on our analog world.

Explore with us the most modern library building in Austria - the main library of the University of Graz. Approximately 1.5 million printed books are stored in the underground stacks and transported back and forth between the shelves and the circulation desk by a special book conveyor system. Reminisce about your student days and enjoy the freshly renovated listed historical reading room on the ground floor. Pass the textbook collection and head to the 3rd and 4th floors with over 600 study and work stations. A magnificent view from the roof terrace over the roofscape of the university to far into the surrounding area of Graz will conclude the tour.
