Since 2015, Graz archeology has been researching the Roman sanctuary on the Schöckl with a cult building on the east summit equipped with wall paintings and a women’s sanctuary around a karst shaft, which has yielded spectacular finds from the 3rd and 4th centuries AD, to which the core area of ​​the special exhibition is dedicated.

Approximately 1.5 million printed books are stored in the underground stacks and transported back and forth between the shelves and the circulation desk by a special book conveyor system. Reminisce about your student days and enjoy the freshly renovated listed historical reading room on the ground floor. Pass the textbook collection and head to the 3rd and 4th floors with over 600 study and work stations.
