You love reading and enjoy talking abut books with fellow booklovers? Then we are the group of people you have been looking for!
We offer interesting books, great people, and regular online meetings where we discuss what we read.
The Inter.Reading Book Club is a book club at the Center for Inter-American Studies (C.IAS) at the University of Graz, organized in cooperation with the Austro-American Society for Styria (ÖAG), the Afro-Asian Institute Graz (AAI) and the alumni UNI graz.
While the book club might be rooted at the university, we welcome everyone, no matter where you come from, if you visited university, and if yes what you studied, and no matter how old you are. We only ask one thing from you: A love for reading and for chatting about a book with friends.
We have 3 branches every term, you can join one or more or all of them:
- the fiction branch: Reads a book on a bigger topic. In the summer term 2022 we read on the Asian-American Experience.
- the non-fiction branch: Reads a non-fiction book every term and meets once every month. Our book this term: The Guantanamo Diary by Mohamedou Ould Slahi
- the latinamerican branch: Reads a novel by a Latinamerican author, in Spanish
