The Chapter NORDICS with Katharina and Roland Mosheim would like to invite you to a new Fika on April 27, which will be held as a panel discussion on the topic:
Train for victory or train for mastery - the secret behind Norway winning almost three times more medals than Austria in the 2026 olympic games — despite having half the population.
Chapter NORDICS: Online-Fika: Train for victory or train for mastery
WHEN: April 27, 2026, 6 pm (CEST)
WHERE: Online via Zoom.
Meeting-ID: 682 3502 9503
Password: 158216
We are going to share insights provided by a great panel:
Trond Nystad: Also known as the "Pep Guardiola of cross country skiing". He was born in Fauske (Norway). Has been head coach of the Cross Country Running team of the University of Denver, Headcoach of the Norwegian Cross Country team and sports Director for Cross Country in the Austrian Ski Federation. He lives now in Ramsau am Dachstein and coaches Athletes and Federations worldwide with his company MYRA.
Alexander Stöckl: The most successful head coach of the Norwegian National Ski Jumping team being honored as the coach of the year in 2016 in Norway. He has been coach of the Austrian Ski Jumping team, Headcoach of the Norwegian Ski Jumping team and Sportsdirector for Ski Jumping in the Polish Skiing Federation. He lives in Oslo and works as a Personal Coach and Leadership coach with his company Life Performance Coaching.
Univ.-Prof. Priv.-Doz. Mag. Dr. Othmar Moser: Professor at the University of Bayreuth for Sports Medicine and Sports Physiology, as well as at the Clinical Division of Endocrinology and Diabetology at the Medical University of Graz. In this role, he also supports numerous elite athletes throughout their careers.
Univ.-Prof. Mag. Dr. Markus Tilp: Deputy Head of the Institute of Human Movement Science, Sport and Health at the Karl-Franzens-Universität Graz. His main focus lies on the complex interplay between muscles and tendons. In healthy people, he specifically focuses on the short-term and long-term effects of stretching, among other things. Another concern of his research is how to positively influence the muscle system of children suffering from cerebral palsy.
After short impulse presentations by the four panel participants, we will address the question of what Norway does better than Austria when it comes to developing an almost inexhaustible reservoir of elite athletes — and why this approach does not work in Austria.
To make the event as engaging as possible for everyone, we kindly ask you to send us your questions (maximum of three) in advance by April 22, 2026. We will cluster them and present them to the panel.
We are already looking forward to an exciting and probably somewhat controversial discussion with hopefully many participants!
