Chapter JDEAS: Get-Together in Venice

On November 21, 2024, an informal get-together of students and alumni of the Joint Degree Program as well as students interested in applying to the program was organized by the JDEAS Alumni Chapter. On the day of the important Venetian holiday of  Madonna della Salute, the participants of this meeting acknowledged their own fortune of being able to partake in a program that brings not only students but also professors together in a true European spirit of academic exchange. Shared experiences were central to the discussions, but more importantly hopes and plans for the future were discussed. Professor Roberta Maierhofer and Professor Hermine Penz provided insights into their current research in terms of Environmental Humanities and Ecolinguistics, offering ideas and encouragement to students contemplating PhD programs and dissertation topics. Everyone had an enjoyable evening and promised to stay in touch.
