Chapter JDEAS: Alumni Happy Hour

The first online meeting of 2026 was marked by a special transition within the Chapter Joint Degree in English and American Studies (JDEAS) community.

Since 2018, former Joint Degree Academic Coordinator Nancy Campbell has regularly organized alumni events, playing a key role in strengthening the Joint Degree network and connecting alumni across countries. With the beginning of 2026, this responsibility has been assumed by Şeyma Yonar, alumna of the programme and new chapter leader.

The JDEAS Alumni Happy Hour on 24 March 2026 (held online via Zoom) was the first alumni event organized by Şeyma in her new role. As part of this occasion, Nancy officially handed over the coordination of alumni activities to her successor.

We would like to express our sincere appreciation to Nancy Campbell for her longstanding and outstanding commitment. At the same time, we warmly welcome Şeyma Yonar in her role as chapter leader and look forward to continued collaboration and many future activities within the JDEAS Alumni Chapter.

During the Happy Hour, Joint Degree students and alumni had the opportunity to reconnect with each other and with teaching staff, exchange experiences, and reflect on their studies and time abroad – a successful start into the new year for the alumni network.
