Symposium: Age and Gender in the Humanities and Social Sciences

The symposium “Age and Gender in the Humanities and Social Sciences”, organized by Nicole Haring at the University of Graz, was held on October 17, 2025, in honor of Roberta Maierhofer and her pioneering work in aging studies.

The event featured international scholars discussing topics such as queering age, aging studies in times of crisis, and mentorship across the life course.

Through panels, round tables, and personal reflections, the symposium celebrated Roberta Maierhofer’s significant contributions to aging research.

The event took place in hybrid form and was attended by a large group of graduates and former GUSEGG participants.
