The first online meeting of Chapter SERBIA focused on the economic connections between Serbia and Austria, in particular Styria. Economic experts gave priority to the topics of work, companies and training.
Head of Chapter SERBIA, Mag. Christian Braunig, moderated the Online-Talk on 16 December 2020, which gave priority to the topics of work, companies and training. The speakers covered comprehensive subjects such as investors, education and continuing training, corporate culture and upcoming chances. In this context, Dr. Erika Teoman-Brenner, Trade Commisioner of the Austrian Chamber of Commerce/Advantage Austria at the Austrian Embassy in Belgrade, gave an overview about the trade volume between Serbia and Austria/Styria and addressed the service sectors of the majority of Austrian companies. Jörg Heeskens, Advisor to the President of the Republic of Serbia, focused on the different industrial sectors and commented on the changes already taking place due to the coronavirus pandemic, e.g. business relocations. The Export Service Organisation of Styrian Economy (ICS) offers information and advice to export-oriented companies. Dr. Robert Brugger, CEO of ICS, gave over 30 participants insights to his experiences in Serbia and offered them support to serve as a link to companies and explained the ICS’s role as intermediator.
