Freezing the biological clock: This is the promise of so-called "social egg freezing". It enables women to freeze their eggs in order to realize their wish to have a child at a later date. Gabriel Hofer-Ranz examined the opportunities and risks of this technology in his dissertation - and incidentally earned his doctorate Sub auspiciis Praesidentis rei publicae. In the current alumni portrait, we spoke with the doctor of philosophy about this highest honor for outstanding academic achievement and his personal dissertation résumé.
